The Family Law 1999 makes 18 the minimum age of marriage, but it also allows marriage for those who have been given the right of full legal capacity, as determined by a court, in accordance with the Civil Code. The Civil Code 2002 allows children to be granted the right of full legal capacity from the age of 16.
