100 DAYS OF ACTION TO END
CHILD MARRIAGE
In the lead-up to International Women’s Day and the seventieth session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, the Child Marriage Free World campaign organised the 100 Days of Action to End Child Marriage. This global mobilisation brought together communities, faith leaders, civil society organisations, survivor-advocates, decision-makers, and young people to accelerate change.
Over the course of 100 days, partners around the world held public pledging events against child marriage and advocated for stronger legal protections for all children at risk.
The 100 Days of Action brought together thousands of people across the world in a shared commitment to protect children. From students and educators to faith leaders and grassroots organisations, individuals stepped forward with one clear purpose: to make the world safer for every child.
Through this campaign, the movement reached nearly 100 countries, demonstrating the power of collective action. Participation came from all corners, schools, faith groups, youth networks, and community organisations organised activities that raised awareness about the harms of child marriage and strengthened efforts to end it.
To support this global mobilisation, a range of materials and resources were developed and shared. These were freely accessible and adapted across different contexts, enabling communities everywhere to take part in meaningful ways. You can explore and use these resources here.
Together, this collective effort helped move us closer to a world where every child grows up safe, supported, and free from early and forced marriage.
100 DAYS OF ACTION AROUND THE WORLD
The 100 Days of Action brings together a wide range of participants from across the globe: schools, civil society organisations, faith groups, youth leaders and community initiatives.
Each is contributing in their own way by hosting events, sharing resources, and engaging families and decision-makers in conversations about child marriage and children’s rights.
The map highlights where activities are planned and underway this year, showing how communities everywhere are joining the effort.
Our 100 Days of Action to End Child Marriage activities aim to raise awareness and prevent child marriage through knowledge and empowerment. Together, we educate for a brighter future.
