Teachers Against Child Marriage
Schools Pledging Week | 1st-8th March 2026
Join teachers & students around the world ending child marriage
In the week running up to International Women’s Day, on the 8th March, teachers around the world are running lessons and school-wide events against child marriage.
Every country has promised to end child marriage by 2030, but nearly 1 in 5 girls are still being married as children. In the first week of March, students and teachers around the world will be saying no to child marriage. Beginning in India a couple of years ago, the Child Marriage Free pledge has grown rapidly at the community level, and now, as part of our 100 days of action, schools will be uniting on every continent.
Support children in your community to join the millions of others worldwide who have learnt about the dangers of child marriage and made a pledge of commitment that they will stay in school and won’t be married as a child.
There is information, resources and guidance to help you take part and links to register below. Be part of it - this International Women’s Day help end child marriage.

From primary classrooms to older teenagers, across faith-based and public schools, pledging events have been widely supported.
