ABOUT THE LAW AND ANY EXCEPTIONS

The Child Marriage Restraint Act allows for 'special cases'. In addition, Bangladeshi child sexual abuse laws have gaps, and sex with a child aged 13 or older in a marriage is not classified as rape.

No explicit law prevents or protects the right to education for married, pregnant, or parenting girls.

Not classified as such by the World Bank, but it should be noted that the World Bank's current list of fragile and conflict-affected states was compiled in June 2024, and will be updated in June 2025.
