ABOUT THE LAW AND ANY EXCEPTIONS

The President of Haiti has the authority to grant exemptions for marriages involving individuals under the legal ages of 15 (girls) and 18 (men), provided there are "serious reasons" for such exceptions. In addition, the Civil Code states that parental consent is required up to the age of 25 for men and 21 for women.
