ABOUT THE LAW AND ANY EXCEPTIONS

The legal age of marriage for girls is 17 in Gaza, and 18 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Religious laws are recognised across Palestine, and Sharia courts can permit marriage below the legal age. This includes exemptions in the case of early pregnancy.
