FOR INFLUENCERS.

Child Marriage Free World is a new, global campaign to end child marriage, community by community. It is organized in an open way, inviting anyone who wants to end child marriage to join.

 

Schools, communities, and governments around the world are currently arranging activities for our inaugural Global Pledging Week to End Child Marriage.

WHERE DOES THE IDEA COME FROM?

The idea began in India in 2022. More than 50 million people have pledged to eliminate child marriage so far, and c.50,000 villages have committed to becoming child marriage-free. Given the successes in India, the campaign is now rolling out internationally.​

WHEN IS IT?

The inaugural Global Pledging Week takes place in the week of December 2-8 2024.​​

WHAT WILL HAPPEN?

Children, teachers, faith leaders and government officials will be holding events to learn about the negative effects of child marriage and to take a pledge to realize a Child Marriage Free World.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

We’re keen to work with influencers who are passionate about girls’ education, children’s rights, adolescent girls’ rights including health, and ending violence against children. Influencers are warmly invited to support the campaign by:

SHARING WHY YOU BELIEVE THE WORLD SHOULD END CHILD MARRIAGE

  • Depending on platform, this can take the form of a short video (<1 minute) or an image with a short explanation.

  • The campaign can provide appropriate graphics should they be required, including the campaign logo.

TAKING THE PLEDGE AND ENGAGING WITH FOLLOWERS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Again, this can take the form of a short video (<1 minute) or an image with a short explanation which contains the text of the pledge (below).

  • The pledge should be taken by raising one hand up, straight into the air; if video, this should be while reading out the text.

  • Followers can be encouraged to take the pledge themselves, and to organise an event in their school or community if possible.
