AGAPAO-VISION RDC gathered faith leaders and community members in Ngangi 3, Nyiragongo, to raise awareness and take action against child marriage and early pregnancies.

On 12 September, in the lead-up to their main community conference, AGAPAO-VISION RDC visited the Arafat/UNIGO Mosque. Together with community members, they discussed the urgent need to protect children from marriage, prevent early pregnancies, and stop other forms of abuse affecting young people.

The main conference took place on 13 September and brought together 50 participants, including local faith leaders from across Ngangi 3. Guided by Don Prémices Mufungizi, President of AGAPAO-VISION RDC, the gathering created a platform for sharing perspectives and exploring practical solutions to protect children and promote their rights.

By mobilizing religious leaders and community members, AGAPAO-VISION RDC demonstrated how faith communities can lead the way in shaping attitudes and building safer environments for children. Their work reflects a shared commitment to ending child marriage and ensuring every child can grow up with dignity and opportunity.

Their participation helped amplify the Global Interfaith Weekend’s mission to unite faith communities around the world to end child marriage and protect the futures of children.
