In Bakuru in Jos state in Nigeria events have been held on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th.

On the 12th, a group of 24 was introduced to the Global Interfaith Weekend to end child marriage and briefed on the program that was planned in Bakuru across the weekend.

Activities included a playlet on child marriage to help communicate the issues in more accessible ways and a discussion on understand child marriage from a Christian perspective and the wider cultural perspective in the area. The question and answer session helped check understanding and ensure the reasons for the activities were fully understood at the outset for the weekend. The pledge for parents and children were discussed and even a song.

The following day on Saturday, 500 people participated in different activities. The song and the playlet were both engaged the wonder community and a further question and answer session was held that focussed on the consequences of child marriage for girls.
