An awareness session on child marriage was held at Green Light Academy in the Filin Governor Narabi district of Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi State. The activity was led by Principal Muhammad Buhari, who engaged directly with students to discuss the harms of child marriage and the importance of protecting children’s rights through education.

A total of 31 students took part in the session. The discussion was interactive, with students asking questions and showing genuine interest in understanding how child marriage affects children’s health, education, and future opportunities.
At the end of the session, 25 students pledged to stand against child marriage and to support efforts that keep children in school. Their participation reflected a growing awareness among young people about the need to speak up and protect one another.

Principal Buhari thanked the students for their active involvement and encouraged them to continue learning and sharing these messages with others. He also reaffirmed the school’s commitment to ongoing awareness efforts, highlighting education as a key step toward ending child marriage in the community.

This activity marks another meaningful step in engaging schools and students in the movement toward a Child Marriage Free World.
