On 21 January 2026, an awareness and pledging session was held at Truth Foundation School, a community health school in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Nigeria, as part of the 100 Days of Action to End Child Marriage. The session focused on helping students understand the harms of child marriage and the importance of protecting children’s rights through education and community support.

The discussion was led by teacher Hassan Paradise, who guided students through conversations about how child marriage affects children’s health, learning, and future opportunities. Students were encouraged to share their thoughts and to reflect on how they can support their peers and speak out against harmful practices.
A total of 13 students took part in the session, and 9 of them pledged to stand against child marriage. The pledging moment marked a shared commitment to continue learning, raising awareness, and supporting girls to stay in school.
This activity shows how schools and teachers can help build understanding among young people and encourage them to take part in creating safer communities for children. Through continued engagement, students are supported to recognise their rights and contribute to efforts to end child marriage.
