Students and teachers from Courageous Kids Academy in Kan Tudu, Kashere District (Akko Local Government Area), Gombe State, organized a community awareness event as part of the 100 Days of Action under the Child Marriage Free World campaign.

The session brought together 37 students for a discussion on child marriage and how it affects education, wellbeing, and future opportunities. The conversation helped students better understand the issue and reflect on the role they can play in preventing child marriage in their community.

During the discussion, students asked questions about what practical steps can be taken to stop child marriage. They also explored ways to raise awareness among their peers, families, and neighbours. The session encouraged students to share what they learned and continue conversations beyond the classroom.

At the end of the programme, 29 participants took the pledge to stand against child marriage. Teachers encouraged the students to carry these messages into their homes and communities.

This engagement in Kan Tudu shows how schools can help create space for discussion and learning about child marriage. By supporting young people to speak up and share information, schools contribute to ongoing community efforts toward a child marriage-free Nigeria.
