On 11 January 2026, a community awareness visit was held at Royal Christ Resurrection Power Church in Mafi Dekpoe, located in the Central Tongu District of Ghana’s Volta Region. The engagement focused on raising awareness about child marriage and encouraging collective action to protect children within the community.

During the session, church members reflected on the harmful impact of child marriage on children’s education, well being, and future opportunities. Emphasis was placed on the shared responsibility of families, faith institutions, and the wider community to safeguard children and support their right to learn and grow.
The engagement brought together 120 community members, alongside two faith leaders who supported and reinforced the message of child protection. The discussions were well received, creating an open space for reflection and dialogue within the congregation.
At the close of the visit, all participants took the pledge to stand against child marriage.

They committed to speaking out against the practice, supporting children at risk, and promoting positive community values that place children’s rights and dignity at the centre.
The event reflected strong community leadership and faith based commitment, marking another step toward building a Child Marriage Free Ghana.
