On 15 December 2025, 21 participants took part in a school and faith based awareness programme on child marriage at Christ the King Catholic High School in Liberia. The engagement brought together 15 students and 6 adults, including church leadership and a priest, and concluded with 15 participants taking a pledge to support efforts to end child marriage.

The session focused on building awareness among students about the causes and harmful impacts of child marriage, including its effects on education, health, and future opportunities. Through interactive discussions, students reflected on their rights and the importance of delaying marriage in order to remain in school and pursue their aspirations. Young people were encouraged to see themselves as active contributors to change within their peer groups and communities.

Faith leaders played an active role throughout the programme. Church leadership participated in the discussions, reinforcing how faith institutions can support child protection, challenge harmful practices, and promote values of dignity, care, and social justice. Their involvement helped strengthen the connection between faith teachings and the responsibility to safeguard children.

The engagement also strengthened collaboration between the school and the church, creating space for continued dialogue and shared action. By bringing students and faith leaders together, the programme contributed to ongoing community led efforts to build a child marriage free future in Liberia.
