On Monday, December 15, 2015, social workers from across the Maritime Region gathered at the Saint George Hotel in Tsévié for a strategic meeting focused on ending child marriage. Held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:46 a.m., the session brought together 75 social workers united by a shared commitment to child protection.
The meeting placed strong focus on the 100 Days of Action Against Child Marriage, unpacking its objectives and key messages while highlighting the vital role social workers play in community awareness and child protection. Through guided discussions, participants explored practical prevention strategies, the early identification of children at risk, and the importance of coordinated responses when cases of child marriage arise.

The meeting was highly interactive, with social workers sharing field experiences and practical approaches to community mobilization. Strong emphasis was placed on their responsibility as advocates, using their positions to spread the campaign’s message within communities and professional networks.
The session ended with a collective commitment to raise awareness, educate families, and end child marriage in the Maritime Region, with all 75 participants pledging support for the 100 Days of Action campaign.
