Zambia-based Phoenix Foundation brought together faith leaders in the Sansamwenje Community on 12th September as part of the Global Interfaith Weekend to End Child Marriage.

The event focused on raising awareness about the harms of child marriage promoting children’s rights, and exploring community-driven solutions to protect young people in Zambia.

Fourteen dedicated faith leaders from various churches participated, sharing strategies for advocacy and pledging to speak out against child marriage during the event and continue raising awareness within their communities beyond the Weekend.

Phoenix Foundation is committed to addressing illiteracy, gender-based discrimination, and the needs of socially disadvantaged and vulnerable communities in Zambia.

Their participation ensured that messages of prevention and advocacy reached both places of worship and the wider community, showing how collective resilience and sustained effort can strengthen the Weekend’s mission to unite faith communities globally against child marriage and protect the futures of children.
